MnDOT Land Use Context Types

Multimodal Plan

Developing tools and resources to support transportation decisions that reflect the surrounding context.

In the Statewide Multimodal Transportation Plan, MnDOT committed to developing tools and resources to support transportation decisions that reflect the surrounding context. Over the last year, we developed a set of nine different land use context types to help guide future roadway planning, programming and design decisions. The guidance was adopted as a technical memo, which will be incorporated into the forthcoming Facility Design Guide--the replacement for the Road Design Manual.

Read the current Land Use Context Types technical memo.
